The ABC's

Here's a very short clip of Isabel singing her ABC's. She sings all day these days and it is just too terribly cute.

As soon as she's finished one round of ABC's she's right on into the next. Oh, and she usually gets louder each time (I think she wants to make sure she has your attention).

Anyway, here goes:

Trains & the Science Museum

Our science museum has temporarily dedicated it's top floor to all things TRAINS! They also have a new train for the kids to ride outside the museum. Needless to say, I have been dying to take the kids (especially Jackson) and this past Saturday we went with my friend Hanna and her twins, Winston & Sydney. My brother Rhett and Ella were also there for about an hour or so.
We started off in the bottom floor with the aquarium and worked our way up to the trains. I thought it may be a little difficult getting Jackson to leave the trains so I wanted to save that for the end of our day. I wish I could have caught his face on camera when he walked into that huge room full of trains. You have truly never seen a happier little boy in your life. It was priceless!! (I do believe we'll be back)

See the freaky eel in the middle? It was more active than we had ever seen it - very cool.

Not her prettiest expression

Here come the trains!!!!!!
He would've stayed here ALL day
This was, hands down the favorite. It was a complete amusement park. Amazing!!

Just look at that face!

Waiting to ride the train
Isn't it cute?

He was trying to help the guy close the doors - too cute!

I gave in....

I did not know what else to do. Isabel has "unofficially" stopped drinking milk. She might have a little with her cheerios but she has lost all interest in milk and LOVES orange juice (yes, I water it down ALOT) or the Motts for tots apple juice (which Mott's has already watered down for me - thank you Motts!)
I broke out the Hershey's chocolate syrup this morning and guess who drank their milk?!?!
I didn't put much because I read the label and the first ingredient is high fructose corn syrup and the actual cocoa is down around number 4 on the list. I have not looked at Whole Foods yet for a healthier alternative but surely there is one out there.
If anyone has any suggestions out there I would love to hear them!

Another first!

O.K., this may not be as wonderful as a my kid's first steps or their first words but it is a first (for Isabel anyway). Isabel has worn blue jeans for the very first time in her 2+ years! She looked so darn cute I (of course) had to get some pictures! :)

Lovin' Saturdays

This Saturday was a great family day. My Mom went with me and the kids to meet my Aunt Lindalu, cousin Julie (who lives out of town with her hubbie so I don't get to see enough of her), cousin Jenny Lou, her hubbie Chris and beautiful Mary Evelyn.

We went to a place called "Homestead Hollow" which is like an outdoor market / crafts (can't really describe this well) and they had pony rides and a petting zoo.

Jackson & Mary Evelyn loved the pony ride and Isabel was, well, lets just say not interested. :)

Next was the petting zoo. Again, it was all about Mary Evelyn & Jackson in the beginning but after watching all the other kids feed the goats and pigs and rabbits Isabel decided she would give it a shot. I think she'll probably do it again.

The highlight for Jackson I believe, was the wooden truck his Gan Gan bought him. There was a stand with a TON of hand carved wooden toys. He spotted the truck almost immediately and wanted nothing to do with anything else. He was sitting in the stroller and saw all of the wooden toys and started pointing. He kept saying, "truck, Mommy, truck".I had no idea which one he wanted so I kept picking the toys up, one by one. There were LOTS of toys so I finally had to pick him up so he could show us what he so desperately wanted. He went right for it but what shocked me most was that right above it was a train. A choo choo train and he never even saw it - go figure.
He wanted to carry it the entire day but it's 2 pretty big pieces so it got a little complicated.
Anyway, it was a fun Saturday!
