A "Grand Saturday"

My wonderful family-

Saturday started off nice and slow. We had breakfast in our hospitality suite and then went outside with the kids to play out front in the sand. The best part of the morning though was the couple of hours the women got to spend in the spa. It was our alternative to the deep sea fishing trip. I'll take a massage over fishing any day of the week!
Aterwards, I went back to the room to change and to go find the men & all the kids at the pool. I really wanted to get a picture of Jackson coming down the waterslide with Kevin but by the time I got to the pool, the kids were tired, cranky and hungry so back to the room we went. By the time everone was up from their nap it was time to get ready for pictures, champagne, and the the "Anniversary Dinner" for my parents.
The family pictures were challenging to say the least. It was so hot and the kids were in no mood to be told to stop playing and let the adults take your picture. I so wanted to take pic's of my "precious babies" sitting on the rocks like good little children but then I realized it was not in the cards. Maybe tomorrow......

I love these pictures of Jackson!

Friday at "The Grand"

On Friday morning all the "men" (all the guys over the age of 3) headed out at 6am for a deep sea fishing trip. This left all the women and children to check out the playground and pool. We hit the playground first but it was a little on the hot side so we decided to get changed and go swimming. It was a beautiful pool but the high point was the big water slide. I didn't know if my kids would be scared to death or if they would love it. Luckily, it was love for all involved. Every time Jackson and I would get to the bottom he would point and say "slide again". I think I may have carried that little guy up those stairs and down that slide 50 times. Isabel liked it but didn't ask to go over and over and over.......
And what Grandmothers will do for their grandkids. My Mom was up and down that slide with 4 grandkids all day. Love you Mom!!!!

We ate lunch at the pool grill (Jackson fell asleep in the middle of lunch :-); went back to the room for naps and then headed right back to swim. The guys didn't get back until after 8:00 or so, so the kids and I went and grabbed a bite to eat on hotel grounds with my Mom, Nicole & Ella. We got to sit outside which is a big plus for dining out with 3 kids aged 3 and under.

Overall, a great day! (We missed Kevin, of course!)

All that sliding can really wear a kid out!

Very cute!!!

This was taken on our last night in Point Clear. We are outside on the "back porch" trying to entertain the kids in between our appetizers and entrees. Isabel was fascinated with her cousin Archer and I tried to capture a little bit of it. The sun was going down so it's a little dark but still oh so sweet.

Point Clear....Day 1

First, let me say "thank you" to Charles & Mom for wanting to spend their 25th Wedding Anniversary with ALL of their kids and grandkids. (There's 16 adults and 5 kids under 3yrs!) We had such a good time. We stayed at The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, AL. It's an incredibly beautiful place and I hope we all go back next year!
We didn't get to the resort until around 5:30 or so because trying to pack and load the car with 2 toddlers is insane! We had dinner reservations at 6:30 so Day 1 was really about packing and travel and dinner. We went to a very casual little seafood place on the bay. The best part was the sandbox. Right down the stairs from our table was a HUGE play area for the kids. Jackson & Isabel are not the best kids when it comes to sitting in a restaraunt so this place was perfect (especially after being in the car for 5 hours).
Because I take so many pictures I'm going to break our trip up into 3 posts so as not to bore anyone to death. These were taken at the restaraunt and around the grounds of the Hotel.
Thank you Mom & Charles!!!!! Happy 25 years! We love you-
