Isabel's 1st Haircut

After trying to trim Isabel's hair twice I decided that it was time for her very first haircut by someone who knew what they were doing. :)
This was a 180 degree turn from our experience with Jackson's first haircut. She sat so very still eating her M&M's, very slowly (she can savor a little mini bag of M&M's for almost an hour). She didn't love the haircut by any means but she tolerated it very well. With Jackson I practically had to put the kid in a choke hold when the scissors got close so she didn't cut his ear off. He cried and screamed the entire time. These kids are so incredibly different from one another.
I love her hair, although she looks so much older, much less like a baby and more of a little girl. I just can't believe how much they have changed in these last few months. Every day I lose a little more "baby". :(

My Mom kept Jackson for me so we headed over to her house to grab him after our hair appt.
Here's the photo documentation from our day-

"Boo" at the Zoo

Sunday night was the last night of "Boo at the Zoo". Every year the zoo has this huge event that lasts through most of the month of October. They decorate everything including the train and the carousel. There was trick or treating, games for the kids, face painting & hay rides. This was the first year we had gone and it will not be the last. We got some great advice to get there at least 30 minutes before the gates opened and thank goodness we listened. We arrived at 4:30 (it opened @ 5:00) and met Nana & Grandpa (K's parents) and our dear friend Stacy. The kids were very good while we waited in line although Jackson kept grabbing my hand saying, "Ride choo train Mommy" and attempting to pull us through the crowd. He's not used to waiting in a line to get in the zoo but they both did really well.
Isabel is "Dorothy" and Jackson is a firefighter. It's hard to tell by the pictures exactly what Jackson is because he wouldn't wear his hat or firefighter jacket but oh well......(Isabel actually wanted to wear Jackson's jacket instead of her adorable dress so I had to bribe her with M&M's to put the dress on)
We didn't get to do everything we wanted because it got dark and a little too cold for the kids but we had a really, really great time.

This is on our front porch on our way to the zoo-

Terrible Two's????

You hear a lot about the infamous "terrible twos" and so far, (I don't want to jinx myself) they are not so terrible. We are really having a great time. The kids and I are getting out of the house and they are being really good. Yesterday I took them to the science museum and I even let them out of their stroller in the big area and they (for the most part) stayed with me and came back when I called their name. In the past we have only stayed in the enclosed toddler area unless I had another adult (man to man coverage is always an ideal situation) but I decided to release them as a test and they passed!
While uploading these pictures I was looking at how big they've gotten. They look so tall all of a sudden. And Isabel is now being referred to as "Chatty Cathy". When she's not talking 90 miles an hour she is singing. And Jackson is making sentences that we actualy understand and unfortunately, has decided to start using the word "NO" alot. These kids amaze me every single day. I am so incredibly lucky...... How did I get the greatest kids in the world?

I LOVE this picture!

Yes, not centered but I love the smile!
