"Boo" at the Zoo

Sunday night was the last night of "Boo at the Zoo". Every year the zoo has this huge event that lasts through most of the month of October. They decorate everything including the train and the carousel. There was trick or treating, games for the kids, face painting & hay rides. This was the first year we had gone and it will not be the last. We got some great advice to get there at least 30 minutes before the gates opened and thank goodness we listened. We arrived at 4:30 (it opened @ 5:00) and met Nana & Grandpa (K's parents) and our dear friend Stacy. The kids were very good while we waited in line although Jackson kept grabbing my hand saying, "Ride choo train Mommy" and attempting to pull us through the crowd. He's not used to waiting in a line to get in the zoo but they both did really well.
Isabel is "Dorothy" and Jackson is a firefighter. It's hard to tell by the pictures exactly what Jackson is because he wouldn't wear his hat or firefighter jacket but oh well......(Isabel actually wanted to wear Jackson's jacket instead of her adorable dress so I had to bribe her with M&M's to put the dress on)
We didn't get to do everything we wanted because it got dark and a little too cold for the kids but we had a really, really great time.

This is on our front porch on our way to the zoo-

The ONLY picture of him with the hat on-

He rode the carousel without a problem but would NOT sit on a horse

Isabel came to join her brother on the bench

Oh my gosh, Dorothy! That is sooo much cuter than - gag - Cinderella!!! And fireguy Jackson is the most adorable guy around! We missed Boo at the Zoo this year for the first time ever - I'm so bummed!

That is the best Dorothy costume I've seen! Did you make it?

The October zoo deal here is way too crowded for our little one to handle. Maybe in a few years...
